P 2" Welded Aluminum Sidewall Studs / 16" On Center

We use 2" welded Aluminum sidewall studs that are spaced 16" on center.  This is not possible with a standard laminated wall.  Aluminum headers above the slide-out for weight and strength.  Our competitors use wood in this process. Sidewalls are set on top of the floor & bolted down, not screwed to the side of the floor like others do.

Welded beads across the joints provide a much stronger bond.  Other use a tack weld.

We start with a layer of flex foil insulation...

...and then add a layer of Fiberglass Batten insulation .

Others who use a standard laminated wall are limited to just R-9 in their sidewalls .

Our gel-coat fiberglass (Lamilux 4000) is attached to two layers of Luan.

PStructure Seal Low Pressure Laminated Sidewall

Unlike a standard hi-pressure laminate wall, our sidewall is laminated under low pressure.   After the sidewalls are bolted to the top of the frame...



...and the insulation is in place, the fiberglass and luan skin is screwed all around the entire perimeter and glued (laminated) to the studs.

 

This process allows us to have more aluminum structure (studs, headers, and window framing) and better insulation the a standard laminated wall. Our Sidewalls are R-21 while standard laminated walls that others use are capped at R-9
